With the concept of reusable materials can cotton be left behind? Reusing and recycling of household cotton is a very convenient way to save money and time. Particular house hold cotton can be used for an extended period of time by giving appropriate treatments to endure its properties such as bleaching and cleansing. You can also think of using a particular cotton item for some other purpose such as using an old bed sheets as cleaning clothes or bath towels. Instead of buying new wash cloths, hand towels, tea towels or dishrags, cut your old thin and ragged bath towels into hand towels and dish towel-sized pieces. Once the dish towels and hand towels get to the point where they’re better off as dish rags or washcloths, recycle them freely. You can save old t-shirts by turning them into rags or cutting and sewing them into long strips which can be used for various other purposes. You can use moistened dryer sheets to clean sinks and showers, instead of buying expensive and potentially ineffective soap scum cleansers.
A little bit of lateral thinking is required for coming up with various ways of reusing the cotton material. Also you may need to know which kind of cotton is suitable for which purpose. Reusing and recycling old cotton items not only helps to save money but it can lessen the frequency of shopping and searching for goods materials. Think of also how much you will be contributing to the cleanliness of the environment.
