Vintage Cotton Dresses

Life comes full circle so is the same with fashion. When mothers open their wardrobes to their daughters, one can find old dresses. Especially of they are in cotton they can be washed, dried and ironed and lo-they can be reused!  If you feel like going retro you have two choices-ransack your mother’s cupboard or walk into the nearest store offering vintage cotton dresses. They still have the old world charm to them. You could also say, they are old wine served in new bottles. The designs of the late 50s’ and 60s’ of the flower power generation keep coming in the market. Since those days cotton was chemically treated, the dresses may have faded or torn. But the new vintage cotton dresses are made of pure 100% cotton. Even organic cotton clothing is used to make these lovely 50 styled garments. 

There is a huge global market for these retro designs which come in either large floral prints or huge checks. Of course now you may get some variations to suit the new generation of girls. They are good enough as they are equally super absorbent and let the skin breathe freely. They are also dust resistant and have a cool effect. In the early 40s vintage cotton dresses were common with the noble class and also the royalty. They were often the tailor made dresses for princesses. Today young girls can look at catalogues and make them too. They are not very price heavy and suitable to all budgets.
