Why is a cotton towel important?

Whether a towel is used for wiping wet hands or the body after a hot shower, it needs to be soft, super absorbent, and long lasting. More than all this, it should remain hygienic wash after wash and wipe after wipe. This is one of the many reasons why a cotton towel is important to have in the kitchen, bathroom and guest room and perhaps in any emergency situation. It helps us to maintain personal hygiene at all times. The cotton towel is known to provide sufficient friction to complement hand hygiene by helping to remove bacteria still on the hands after washing and rinsing.
A cotton towel has a capacity for absorption of water nearly 25% of its weight. Its macroscopic and microscopic capillaries transport water in the fabric and act as a reservoir by absorbing water. It is crucial that the water is removed from the hands. Otherwise a wet and warm palm is a perfect breeding ground for germs. A wise choice for hygiene, cotton towel is good for the environment. They are better than paper towel alternatives. It is excellent for recycling.
